When tagging and releasing marlin and sailfish, it is necessary to estimate their weight. This chart will assist you.

Here's a tip on how to Estimate the Weight of fish.

The formula used to estimate the weight of a fish is

Length x Girth squared divided by 800

This equasion is in inches. To convert centmetres to inches multiply centimetres by .3937

The length should be to the fork of the tail and not the overall length.
